Competency Completion Data
Publication date: 23rd June, 2009.
Every RTO has to submit their 2008 completion data to their registering body. This is a requirement for maintaining registration as it is one of the three Quality Indicators. NCVER has developed online software called Competency Completion Online Software (CCOS) to assist RTOs. The RTO must:
- Enter/import their 2008 completion data into the NCVER online software
- Generate reports from the software
- Send the reports to their registering body
To access the software, go to: http://www.acer.edu.au/aqtf/completionqi.html

- Click on the first link on the webpage as shown in this screenshot
- When the login box opens add your username and password
- Add/edit your 2008 data manually or by importing a file
- Generate reports and save them to your QMS or computer network
Not sure? The Guide is the second link in the screenshot above.
Can't find you login details?
These were emailed to the person who is on NTIS as the day-to-day contact. Key that email address into the 'Forgot password' box and it will be emailed to that address.
Can you practice?
This is worth doing if you'd like to lower your stress levels. Choose 2006 as the year, enter some enrolments and completions and generate a report. You can delete all this when you are finished.
Report looks odd?
It can be saved as a web page or html. It can also be copy/pasted on to a Word document.
Urban myth
'We submit our data to the government when we claim for funding, so we don't have to do anything.'
Not true. At the very least you must go into CCOS and generate the reports. Also, the RTO must now report on ALL enrolments and completions. Most RTOs only submit data about funded training to the government. So if your RTO also offers fee-for-service training then you must add these numbers to what is already in CCOS before you generate the report.
Concerned about who sees your data?
'Data from the Competency Completion Quality Indicator are held centrally in a secure online database managed by NCVER. Access to an RTO's data is password protected to ensure no third parties are able to gain access to these data.'
Extract from: 'Quality Indicators Handbook for Registered Training Organisations'.
What about the other Quality Indicators?
The other two are the Learner Questionnaire and the Employer Questionnaire. These two do not have to be submitted this year BUT the questionnaires must be collected this year so that results for 2009 can be submitted this time next year, when you also do the 2009 competency completion data.
