Accredited course
A structured sequence of vocational education and training that has been accredited by a state or territory course-accrediting body and leads to an Australian Qualifications Framework qualification or statement of attainment (From Users' Guide to the Essential Standards for Registration).
Generally, a state registering body will approve a properly documented course if it can be shown that the need for it is not met by an existing Training Package qualification/units. Any organisation can develop a course and get it accredited but only an RTO can actually deliver it because, once it is accredited, it becomes nationally recognised training. The code, title and copyright owner of an accredited course is listed on NTIS but the owner would have to be contacted for further details.
